Global Bankers Insurance Group (“Global Bankers”) celebrated the founding of its corporate headquarters in Durham at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, September 18, 2017. Special guest in attendance was North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest.
Sandy Ball, EVP, Human Resources and Talent Development, opened the ceremony with heartfelt words and was followed by speakers including Co-CEO and President Lou Hensley, Vice Chairman and Co-CEO George Luecke and Lt. Governor Dan Forest.
“We feel an affinity with our fellow neighbors, both personal and corporate, in Durham,” said Mr. Hensley. “The city’s cultural, economic and business environment, its highly skilled workforce, low cost of living and high quality of life quite simply make it a great place to build a company and a life.”
“Global Bankers is unique among our industry peers. In many ways, we are culturally more like a technology company than a traditional insurer or reinsurer,” added Mr. Luecke. “We are fast and efficient while making long-term investments in our platforms and people. We’re thrilled to have created nearly 100 local jobs here in Durham in support of a growing family of insurers and reinsurers in the U.S and overseas.”
Global Bankers is part of privately held Eli Global, LLC, a Durham-based federation of approximately over 70 autonomous companies representing a diversified range of industries in more than 20 countries.
